A new 2nd hardest! And a 2nd mainlist at that. I’ve always wanted to go for this level as it’s been something that intrigued me and fit my skillset pretty well. I picked up and did some small runs on the level without the intent to beat it, just to see how it played. I racked up around 11k attempts doing this. After I finished the Hell Trilogy, I decided that I was ready to tackle another mainlist. And here we are! It took less than a month to beat after I picked it up with the intent to beat it.
As for the level itself, it is very good. Unique yet enjoyable gameplay, a bit on the learnier side but still very accessible. I would recommend this level as a hardest or to anyone really. There are a couple minor issues, however. After the dual wave/ball at 39, there are two clicks that have invisible hitboxes which I found very frustrating to die to. The wave at 59 also felt too hard but I THINK that’s a skill issue on my end. Regardless, this is a very good level.
Kinda sad I had to beat it using LDM, but the ship part lagged me below 100fps on full detail, and Im not good enough at gd to deal with that.
Enjoyment: 9/10
