Sending out a blast text message "come hang out" to a bunch of people who might be sleeping is inconsiderate… So I'm making a bunch of these little guys to alert them a party is happening by, um, blasting power chords and projecting my logo onto their ceilings. The idea is amusing enough that it outweighs my concerns about being inconsiderate.

I programmed an esp32 with #micropython to connect to my freinds' homes' wifi. It then communicates with my home automation platform, #indigodomotics. When I flip a giant party switch on the device in my #bar / #workshop, the status of the party is toggled, and the units can then alert the lucky recipients. The lucky recipients then have a choice of three buttons to press, indicating a "yes," "maybe," or "no." Sound effects pending for each button. When they hit those buttons, their party status gets updated on my server, which then can alert other people how many people will be making it out (this will hopefully capitalize on herd mentality).
