Ever started a painting with a clear plan… and then everything changed? That’s exactly what happened to me today. I set out to add a layer of paint to this collage piece, hoping to let some of the background papers peek through with the help of clear medium. But the paint wasn’t as transparent as I expected—and things didn’t go to plan.
I felt stuck, uncertain, and honestly… I almost threw the painting in the trash.But I didn’t. I kept going.
Layer by layer, I worked through the challenges, made bold decisions, and slowly brought the piece to life. The final touch? A beautiful lotus flower stencil, symbolising how we can bloom through the mud—rising above creative blocks and inner doubt to find something strong, beautiful, and true.
Alongside the painting process, I share a personal pep talk about what to do when your artwork feels off-track. This video is about more than just techniques—it’s about persistence, trust, and creative growth.
