Many people have stated that the Roland FP-30 (and the whole FP line of instruments) are absolutely fantastic for an entry level keyboard. While some of this is true, in my opinion there are several issues with the Roland FP-30 that keep it from being the best in its price class. I discuss the positives and negatives of the Roland FP-30 in this video.
P.S. I am sure it will be pointed out that you can use the headphone jack to power speakers or to record directly, but honestly it would be very unprofessional way to try to use the keyboard in a semi professional way. I believe that a keyboard in this price range should without question have dual direct outs in the back of the keyboard (even the Williams had that at $250.00).
