HyEnD has successfully finalized the design of HyFIVE-3, the engine that will be used in our subscale demonstrator rocket COMPASS. With a nominal thrust of 800N and a specific impulse of 220s (SL), the engine is able to perform hot fires for up to 10 seconds. However, for the first flight of Compass, it will operate for only about 3s since the maximum altitude is restricted.
Even after the launch of Compass, HyFIVE will be used to evaluate different concepts and designs and to improve the performance even further.
