I, Joanna Steidle, drone pilot and artist captured this humpback whale feeding on a massive school of menhaden fish within 100ft of the coast of Bridgehampton, NY USA today 6/23/25. This is my first June capture of a humpback in our local waters. If you look closely, you can see a striped bass high tailing it out the whale’s course. Watch as the humpback catapults its body up through the surface for a lunge feed. Taken just a few hundred yards east of W.
