This is my rendition of Humilau City using Diamond and Pearl Sounds.
To be honest, after I finished making this I was quite surprised with how close it sounded to the original. These are much shorter samples and unlike HGSS's none of them are shared with the B2W2 original.
To make the arrangement sound this close I did some things I'm not used to, though. I added special commands to override the ADSR settings for some instruments like the synth on the chorus and the bells. These chimes were also layered with a duplicate one octave above to replicate the very grand feeling the Humilau bells have.
I also kept the portamento (the slide effect on the organ). Even though the sound team didn't specifically use it in DPPt or HGSS, the sound engine itself supported it.
In my opinion, the DP strings make the song even more interesting as you can hear the fast notes a lot better. Also, even if the organ does sound a bit faint during the glissando moments, the DP sample is a lot more stable and clean.
Anyway, enjoy!
