Our favourite sign of spring? Seeing (and hearing!) our Humboldt penguins head outdoors! 😍

After a long winter, there’s no sight that makes us honk with excitement more than watching these striped waddlers choose to move into the outdoor Penguin Plunge habitat. With a purpose-built indoor and outdoor space that meets our colony’s needs year-round, this seasonal shift simply gives them the option to spend more time outside when conditions suit them. 🌞

Native to the temperate climate of South America, our Humboldt penguins spend the warmer months outside and can often be seen cozying up in burrows, taking a dip, and enjoying the waterfall. Having choice over where they spend their time within their habitat is an important part of their welfare and wellbeing. 🩵

Stop by to welcome the Humboldts back outside! 🐧
