At a news conference on Parliament Hill, a group of human rights advocates call on the federal government to review the admissibility to Canada of Mohan Bhagwat, who leads the Hindu nationalist paramilitary organization Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Bhagwat is reportedly scheduled to visit Toronto later this month.
Speaking are NDP MP Heather McPherson, Saleha Faruque (advocacy programs manager, Justice For All Canada), Ahmad Al Qadi (government affairs and public policy officer, National Council of Canadian Muslims), Danish Singh (national president, World Sikh Organization of Canada), Sravya Tadepalli (deputy director, Hindus for Human Rights), and Chinnaiah Jangam (associate professor, Carleton University).
