A strange anomaly in Earth's magnetic field, is becoming bigger. NASA is continuously tracking this strange area of lower magnetic intensity, stretching out between South America and southwest Africa.

The phenomenon called the South Atlantic Anomaly, has baffled and concerned scientists. Likened by NASA to a "dent" in Earth's magnetic field, it poses a great threat to spacecrafts and satellites flying over that region. The weakened magnetic field, can expose the spacecrafts to Sun's charged particles, causing permanent damage.
