Recently a friend of my uncle had a bunch of model trains from the 1950s that he wanted to give to someone else, eventually I got two large boxes of the collection and had no idea what was inside them.
Apparently this equipment has not been operated for many decades and as a result non of the locomotives ended up running right off the bat. However with some cleaning and technical work I was able to get most of them operational again.
I'm overall very impressed by the quality and craftsman ship of these engines, the fact that they sprung back to life after sitting so many years is a testament to how well they were made.
