This is basically just the string section of John Powell’s This is Berk from HTTYD 1, with some very slight changes. It’s not my arrangement, it’s based on the written score, and the idea came from Momo Symphonia’s HTTYD piano/string covers.

The strings carry so much of the score and they seem play more than the other instrument groups. I think it could be partially because John Powell is a viola player, but also the wind players need a chance to breath on occasion. Some parts are even written for specifically for the strings to shine, especially love theme/Astrid’s theme.

The one main difference is that I had to add the part at around 0:47. Otherwise, it would have been completely silent.
