YouTube is one of the most powerful learning tools we’ve ever had.
But it has a flaw.
It doesn’t do targeted teaching well.
In this video, I break down why disc golf YouTube tends to distort development over time, not because the information is bad, but because the structure is missing.
We’ll talk about:
• Why distance dominates your feed
• How the algorithm quietly shapes what you think matters
• Why “symptom videos” create confusion
• The difference between depth and width in skill development
• Why order matters just as much as volume
Distance isn’t the villain.
YouTube isn’t the villain.
But if you rely on isolated pieces without a system, your progress eventually stalls.
Improvement requires oscillation.
Zoom in. Zoom out.
Detail and context.
Structure and sequence.
If you’ve felt stuck despite consuming a lot of information, this will clarify why.
As always, all the best with your practicing.
