The recruitment system in Jharkhand has come under serious scrutiny following allegations of large-scale irregularities in the JPSC examinations. The alleged statement of arrested accused Abhay Tiwari before the CID has brought claims of a rate card involving ₹5 lakh for clearing prelims, ₹15 lakh for influencing interview marks and ₹60–70 lakh for guaranteed selection. The allegations have also raised questions about a wider network involving agents, coaching institutes, the examination agency TDPL and people linked to the recruitment process, with claims that the alleged network extended across the 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th JPSC examinations.
In this video, we explain what Abhay Tiwari allegedly told the CID, how the alleged recruitment network worked, how candidate codes were reportedly identified before interviews, how interview marks were allegedly influenced, and which names have emerged during the investigation. We also look at the protests by JPSC aspirants, their demand for a CBI probe, the government’s response, the cancellation of examinations conducted by TDPL, and the larger questions this controversy raises about merit, recruitment transparency and administrative accountability in Jharkhand.
