Ash dieback disease, a fungal disease that can devastate ash trees, was first discovered in the UK in 2012. With memories of Dutch elm disease still fresh in people's minds, this new threat became a significant concern to British woodland.

In this video, Dr Anne Edwards shares her experience finding and fighting this disease, which earned her a British Empire Medal (BEM) for her contributions to the environment and public understanding of science.
