BBSRC | Unlocking the Power of Methane-Producing #Bacteria: The Future of #Renewable #Biofuels? @bbsrcmedia | Uploaded July 2014 | Updated October 2024, 52 minutes ago.
In the search for #sustainable and #renewableenergy sources, a BBSRC-funded team at the University of Warwick is exploring the potential of methane-producing #bacteria, called methanogens, to create #biofuels.

With the help of a BBSRC Strategic Longer and Larger (SLOLA) grant, watch as the team uses interdisciplinary research to build cooperative #microbial networks that work in harmony produce biomethane.

SLOLA's goal is to learn how manipulate these networks to produce this renewable fuel in oxygen-free environments, as oxygen can be toxic to these bacteria. Join us as we delve into the fascinating world of microbial ecology and the potential of #methanogens to provide a #cleanenergy future.
