Dandadan Episode 4 Explained: Kicking Turbo Granny's Behind
Episode 4 kicks off with Okarun and Momo entering Turbo Granny's cave, determined to challenge her. However, Turbo Granny traps them inside. Before she can devour them, Momo boldly challenges Turbo Granny to a race to prove who’s the fastest. Turbo Granny accepts but, twisting the rules, traps Momo with her powers. In an unexpected turn, Okarun bites Turbo Granny’s "mommy milkers," allowing her to repossess his body.
Momo seizes the opportunity to ensnare Turbo Granny, but the Yokai summons a massive crab spirit to crush them both. Momo and Okarun manage to escape the cave, but they are quickly pursued by the crab spirit. Okarun uses his “All Out” form to escape briefly, but the crab catches up. In a strategic move, Momo and Okarun lure the crab to a hot spring, where Momo boils the water to slow it down.
As the chase continues, Turbo Granny reveals a nearby giant cemetery at the edge of Shono City, enlisting the help of spirits to surround Momo and Okarun. Exhausted, Okarun reverts to his original form, but Momo uses her powers to latch onto a moving train for their escape. Turbo Granny, now fused with the crab spirit, relentlessly pursues them, mocking the pair as they leave the city and enter her domain. Fortunately, Seiko, Momo’s grandmother, had set a trap, and with Momo’s help, they finally defeat Turbo Granny.
After the battle, Momo learns from her grandmother that the tunnel was the site of multiple murders involving young girls, and Turbo Granny had come to console their restless spirits. Momo’s grandmother also explains the delicate balance between the living and the dead, expressing relief that Momo wasn’t hurt. The three celebrate their victory over the crab, which leads to a comical fight over food between Momo and her grandmother. Meanwhile, Seiko humorously harasses Okarun, insisting on checking if he has any genitals.
As the episode wraps up, Okarun bids farewell to Momo, reassured by her promise to see him again at school the next day.
