In many cases we need to break a simulation into smaller parts. This can be due to time evolution of the parameters which are unknown at the start of the simulation, or can be due to distortion of mesh when objects move in the simulation, etc. As such, we need to run one study and use the solution of that study as the initial condition of the next study. In this video I show you how to do implement this in COMSOL. In the next video I will demonstrate how to do the same thing from MATLAB.
In this video i describe a simple heat transfer by conduction model as the case study and give some basic background about this thermal model. COMSOL implementation starts at 8:00 and the main point of the video starts at 11:00.
