In this tutorial I will show you how to use any Cardboard Headset for Daydream VR!
This tutorial assumes you already have a Daydream Motion Controller. If you do not have one, I will make a video soon to teach you how to use a second Android phone as a controller.
Step 1: Find the QR code of your Cardboard headset.
Normally, it should come together with the Cardboard headset. If not, simply do a Google search looking for "QR CODE" + "Name of your headset".
Step 2: Pair your Daydream app with the headset
Click on the hamburger menu on the top left corner. The slide out menu appears. Click on "Settings" . Now click on "Headset" and on the following menu choose " Scan QR code". Now simply scan the headset's QR code.
A message should pop up that tells you that you have successfully paired your headset.
Step 3: Enable "Developer Options". To do so, open the Daydream menu again by clicking on the hamburger menu on the top left. Click on "Settings" and now repeatedly click on "Build Version" until "Developer Options" are enabled.
Step 4: Enable "Skip VR Entry Screens". In the Developer Options, find the "Skip VR Entry screens" option and check it.
Step 5: Use Daydream by clicking the blue headset button on the bottom right. Put your Daydream-ready phone into the headset and enjoy Daydream!
Since the VR entry screens that tell you to long press your controller's home button are now skipped, you have to do so on your own now!
