Craig Caton-Largent introduces the servo tester. This little device is a massive help, as it allows you to check if your servo is working as it should and calibrate a center position.
After plugging one side of the servo tester into a battery pack, you’ll see an “S,” indicating “signal,” and a positive and negative for the ground on your tester.
On the servo wire, the yellow wire is the signal, the red is the positive, and the brown (or black, depending on the servo type) is the negative.
The manual setting allows you to move it back and forth and check its range of motion.
The servo can go further than the throw of the eyes. By doing this, you’ll hear a light clicking sound. This is because it can actually go further than the eyes are built. To solve this problem, Craig Caton-Largent will limit the end throws of the servos when he goes into his software programming.
