I wanted to make a video about how to turn a pen on a lathe… but rather than just telling it to the camera, I taught my wife to do it! And as an added bonus, she made her pen blank out of the scraps from the stool that I made for our kids! This is the first project my wife has ever done in the shop, so she was a little nervous at first, but the more she did it, the more she enjoyed it. She got the ultimate beginner experience, and ended up with a gorgeous pen that I would argue has a better finish on it than any I have made!
