This is... “This is Berk” from "How to Train Your Dragon," only my piano cover in Notion 6. It’s not a perfect piano transcription, but I’ve put a lot of work into it over the last few years and it’s pretty close; I’m really happy with how it’s turned out, especially given how comparatively simple it started (see Sebastian Wolff’s transcription below).
It was originally transcribed by Sebastian Wolff, Alex Sheen and Silfimur, and I’ve combined the best bits to make this. I’ve also listened painfully closely (it’s so loud sometimes) to match mine to the original and to make it stand out from other covers. While everyone else did an incredible job with their own covers, I’ve spent the last couple weeks fine tuning mine and getting the tempo to perfectly (or very, very closely) match the original. When you really look close and try to sync it up with the scene itself it’s anything but consistent all the way through and sometimes I have to make a tempo change mid-melody. Not to mention that the film version of the song (which this video is based on) has slightly longer pauses in some places than the soundtrack version so I sometimes end up making two slightly different versions of the song. I really enjoy doing these music videos and I think it makes my channel unique, but sometimes I forget how much work it can be.
