Phone calls in French are hard. Not because your French is bad, but because every support you normally rely on disappears: no body language, no facial expressions, no time to think. Even learners who have lived in France for years still describe picking up the phone as the moment everything falls apart.

In this video, I'm sharing the 4-part structure that every French phone call follows, the phrases that keep you grounded when your comprehension starts to slip, and three complete real-life calls you can listen to and practice with: booking a restaurant, recovering a lost item from a hotel, and warning a gĂźte host that you're running late. Once you know the structure, you stop feeling like you're at the mercy of wherever the call goes, and you start feeling in control of it.

À trùs vite !

At Comme une Française, we specialize in everyday spoken French. We focus on three unique aspects that are different from school French, self-study books, Duolingo, etc:
1. We focus only on the specifics of speaking/understanding/being understood in everyday French and have unique ways to help you learn it properly & faster.
2. We focus on shortcuts to help you make progress faster, which also means we tell you exactly what you can stop learning to prioritize what’s really important.
3. We use French culture as the subject to make it fun and interesting for adults.

Take care and stay safe.
