When you first started learning French, perhaps decades ago, you probably quickly realized that there are big differences between the way that words are pronounced in French versus how they’re pronounced in English, even if they look or are spelt the same way.

One reason for this is that we tend to stress the syllables in French words differently than you would in English! In today’s lesson, I’ll explain how you can start to subtly change the way you emphasize the different syllables in French words, so you can sound more fluent when you speak French.
