Are your curls not curling up the way you want? You may be under or over-styling!

If your curls aren’t curling like you expect, it’s usually not your products — it’s how you’re styling.
Most people are either under-styling or over-styling by using techniques that don’t actually change their results. To bring out your natural curl pattern, you need to match your manipulation level to what your hair responds to.
Level 1: Minimal manipulation
Rake, praying hands, light scrunch. Fast. Great for waves and loose curls that stretch easily.
Level 2: Light manipulation
Add some tension with your hands or a brush. Direct hair off the scalp. Moderate scrunch. More intention without overdoing it.
Level 3: Medium manipulation
Brush-style with moderate tension. Intentionally direct at the crown. Selectively finger coil where needed. This is my sustainable routine. I invest here so I don’t have to touch my hair tomorrow.
Level 4: Maximum manipulation
Smaller sections. High tension. Finger coil throughout. Great for special occasions when you want to see your hair’s full potential.
The goal isn’t to always do more. It’s to find the level that actually changes your results.
