If the battery in the key fob in your Volkswagen e-Golf is dead, you may still start the vehicle just by holding the key fob near the designated area on the steering column where the antenna is located. Your key fob has the RFID chip inside and it will communicate with the vehicle control modules and you will be able to start the car. Even if the fob has no battery in it at all.
