If you're suffering from overactive bladder problems, the first essential step is measuring your bladder volumes so you know how much urine your bladder can store. You need to measure and record how much urine you empty every time your empty bladder over 24 hours or 3 days. Don't worry about recording night time volumes if this is too much trouble, just record how many times you empty your bladder during the night. Your bladder diary will help you know how much your bladder is storing on average and how often you're emptying your bladder. Doing this gives you the information you need for bladder training and overcoming bladder urgency and leakage. You will require an old measuring jug to measure the size of your void or you can empty into a container and measure from there. Then simply record how much urine you emptied on the bladder diary linked next.
