In this video, I show you how to simplify the function curve to remove excess keys using an algorithm designed for dense data sets, such as motion capture data, which have a key on every frame.

In this three-part Lighting series, we’re going to continue with our Unreal Engine 5 for Beginners series. This week we’re going to start with the basics of lighting in the Unreal engine. We start by making our very own Cornell box and talk about errors you may run into when you export an fbx file into your unreal engine scene. We then talk about Lumen, why we use it, and how to use it. Then we start exploring light types inside Unreal Engine 5 and all the key attributes we need to know about so you don’t spend time scrolling through the long list of properties for each light. Only then, we can move to a much bigger scale and explore some complementary tools such as exponential fog height, volume clouds, and sky atmosphere. Lets start with the 2nd part and see what components we can use to create a day exterior in UNREAL Engine 5.
