Running towns shouldn’t feel like improv panic or endless “shopping episode” downtime. If your table hits the city gates and the pace dies, the fix isn’t writing more lore—it’s using simple OSR procedures that create pressure, choices, and consequences.
In this video, I show you how to run towns like a mini-dungeon: six anchor locations (inn, market, temple, authority, specialist, and a shady option), three pressures (law, factions, scarcity), and a clean “town turn” loop you can repeat all night. You’ll get concrete examples, a fast way to handle NPCs with reaction-based play, and an easy Heat track so trouble escalates naturally when the party gets loud, flashy, or criminal.
