This is a guide for replacing the screen on a Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 model 15ARH05
For the replacement process we will need the following tools:
- plastic pick
- Phillips screw driver
- tweezers
To begin, turn off the laptop.
Start removing the bezel. Insert the plastic pick between the bezel and LCD.
Move the pick around the perimeter unsnapping the tabs underneath.
Remove the bezel.
The LCD is attached with adhesive to metal rails on the sides. In order to get access to the adhesive
we need to loosen the rails first. Remove two Phillips screws from the top corners.
Then using plastic pick and fingers remove adhesive strips to separate the LCD from the rails
and the back cover. Place the screen on the keyboard. Replace the screws in the top corners.
Open the video connector's bracket. Disconnect the cable. Discard the old screen.
Place the screen on the keyboard. Reconnect the video cable. Close the connector's bracket.
CAUTION! It is very important not to force any connectors. Also, make sure not to twist
or slant the connector when plugging it in.
Make sure that the cable is in the right position. Lift the screen up and remove
protective film. Now we can test the new screen. The screen is working and we can finish
installation process.
Wipe the metal rails on the back cover and the sides of the screen.
Your new display may not come with adhesive. We offer standard double-sided tape
for such repairs on our site: laptopscreen.com.
Apply adhesive strips. Lift the screen up and press firmly on the sides to catch the
adhesive.
Double check that the cable is in the right position and replace the bezel. Go around the
perimeter snapping the tabs back in place.
The laptop is old with many loosen plastic parts so we had to reattach the hinge cover
which came off while we were replacing the bezel.
Turn the laptop on and we are done!
