I use WD-40 and a green scrubbing pad along with mink oil and a cloth to clean mine, however there are many substances and ways to clean and restore your items.
I haven't cleaned this armor in approximately a full larp season or about 8 months. I suggest doing it more often and if you have very nice armor or want yours to last a long time, I'd suggest keeping up on it after every event, especially if it rains or you sweat a lot.
If you viewed my other video on how to attach materials, this is a main reason why I am a promoter of using the stainless Chicago screws instead of rivets in your armor, because it look basically the same, but will not rust.
I hope you found this video useful and cleaning up leather armor really is easy, but it's far easier to prep it ahead of time and keep up on the regular cleaning instead of being lazy like me. Have your own tips or recommended products, comment below!
