You only get a handful of album releases in your music career. So make every one count!
First, know why you are releasing your album or EP before spending the money to do so. Just because "that's what bands do" isn't good enough a reason. What do you WANT from your album release? Money? Touring? Booking? An ego boost? A record deal? A manager? Booking agent?
All of it? In what order?
Your reasons WHY you are releasing an album or EP affect every decision you need to make on your journey to a successful release. Don't underestimate this!
Also, to make an album successful you need to do two things, in this order - build anticipation, and generate momentum. Don't operate your music career in a vacuum!
