PART TWENTY-ONE
Kulashekhara Maharaja was a Chakravartin (a sage-king) and one of the twelve saintly Alvars of the ancient Vaishnava tradition. He was born in 2075 BC. His famous written work is the Mukunda Mala Stotra, a highly devotional hymn dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. This livestream/satsangha is the first installment of a series of commentaries on this important work delivered by Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya. It will be followed by a Q&A.
"May Kṛṣṇa, the spiritual master of the three worlds, protect us. Continually bow down to Kṛṣṇa. Kṛṣṇa has killed all our enemies. Obeisances to Kṛṣṇa. From Kṛṣṇa alone this world has come into being. I am the servant of Kṛṣṇa. This entire universe rests within Kṛṣṇa. O Kṛṣṇa, please protect me!." (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 43)
"O young cowherd boy! O ocean of mercy! O husband of Lakṣmī, the ocean's daughter! O killer of Kaḿsa! O merciful benefactor of Gajendra! O Mādhava! O younger brother of Balarāma! O spiritual master of the three worlds! O lotus-eyed Lord of the gopīs! I know no one greater than You. Please protect me." (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 44)
"Your wife is the beautiful daughter of the ocean, and Your son is Lord Brahmā. The Vedas are Your eulogist, the demigods comprise Your company of servants, and liberation is Your benediction, while this entire universe is a display of Your mystic power. Śrīmatī Devakī is Your mother, and Arjuna, the son Indra, is Your friend. For these reasons I have no interest in anyone but You." (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 45)
