PART TEN
Kulashekhara Maharaja was a Chakravartin (a sage-king) and one of the twelve saintly Alvars of the ancient Vaishnava tradition. He was born in 2075 BC. His famous written work is the Mukunda Mala Stotra, a highly devotional hymn dedicated to Bhagavan Sri Krishna. This livestream/satsangha is the first installment of a series of commentaries on this important work delivered by Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya. It will be followed by a Q&A.
"O mortal beings, you have submerged yourselves fully in the ocean of material existence, which is filled with the waves of misfortune. Please hear as I briefly tell you how to attain your supreme benefit. Just put aside your various attempts at gaining knowledge and instead begin constantly meditating upon the mantra Aum Namo Nārāyaṇāya and bowing down to the Lord." (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 16)
"Our master, the Supreme (pare) Personality of Godhead Nārāyaṇa, who alone rules the three worlds, whom one can serve in meditation, and who happily shares His personal domain, is manifest before us. Yet still we beg for the service of some minor lord of a few villages, some lowly man who can only meagerly reward us. Alas, what foolish wretches we are!" (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 17)
"O lotus-eyed Lord, please sustain our lives as we constantly relish the nectar of meditating on Your lotus feet, with our palms prayerfully joined, our heads bowed down, our bodily hair standing up in jubilation, our voices choked with emotion, and our eyes flowing with tears." (Mukunda Mala Stotra, 18)

![The Liberated Mind
The Vedic tradition teaches us that our minds can be either our very best friend, or our very worst enemy. In this discussion of the Dharma of the Mind, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya will explain to us what are the three mental qualities that lead to a liberated mind. Learn how to make your mind your friend!
“I have already explained to you about the three kinds Dharma by its association, respectively, with mind (manah), speech (vak) and action (karma). Among these I shall now explain the Dharma of the mind.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.4)
“Faith (shraddha), firmness (dhrti), and tranquility (prasada), these three are the Dharma of the mind. All the other [positive] activities of the mind are considered to be founded on the basis of these three divisions.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.5)
“One who has faith acquires knowledge; he is acceptable to the good; he is regarded as the proper man; and he is embraced also by God.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.6)
“By firmness one does not fall from the right path (dharma); by firmness one ceases to be bound by sorrow; by firmness one is not deluded by material happiness; by firmness one is not stricken by anxiety.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.7)
“Being tranquil, one does not trouble others; being tranquil, one does not become jealous; being tranquil, one does not become greedy; being tranquil, one is always happy.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.8)
“When these qualities are found in a man, either as being natural to his essence, or acquired by him by his own effort as a permanent habit of his mind, God is pleased with him.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.9)
“Association with people possessing these qualities, or hearing of those great ones, having great knowledge of these people becomes the means of gaining these qualities.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.10)
“Whatever is opposed to these three is called adharma. Those addicted to qualities that are opposed to these three come to grief in all their lives, present and future.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.11)
“Therefore a devotee of Vishnu, desiring to attain the accomplishment of his object (attaining to liberation) should discipline his mind in the practice of these three qualities.” (Parama-Samhita Pancharatra, 12.12)

![Overcoming the Effects of the Kali Yuga
Our present era, known as the Kali Yuga, is the most degraded of all ages. It an age of degeneracy, ignorance, conflict and adharma (the opposite of Dharma). Despite the harsh conditions of our present age, however, Lord Sriman Narayana has mercifully provided us with several sure means by which we can still achieve spiritual liberation. Among these is reciting the Vedic mantra:
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
This important mantra is revealed in the Kali Santarana Upanishad. In this unprecedented livestream special, Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya will comment on the entire Kali Santarana Upanishad.
“At the end of the Dvapara [Yuga] Narada went to Brahma and addressed him thus; ‘O Lord, how shall I, roaming over the earth be able to overcome the effects of Kali [Yuga]?’ Brahma replied thus; ‘You have asked well. Listen to that which all the Vedas keep secret and hidden, through which one may cross the ocean of mundane existence (samsara) during Kali [Yuga]. It is through the mere recitation of the names of the Primeval Personality of Godhead - Lord NARAYANA, that one transcends the evil effects of the Kali Yuga.’ Narada asked again: ‘What are those names?’ Brahma (Hiranyagarbha) replied: ‘Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare’.” (Kali Santarana Upanishad, 1)
“’These sixteen names destroy the negative effects of Kali. No better means (upaya) than this is to be had in all the Vedas. These sixteen names destroy the 16 envelopments (kala) in which the jiva is enveloped (avarana). Then, like the Sun which shines forth once the clouds are dispersed, Parabrahman alone radiates forth’. (Kali Santarana Upanishad, 2)
“Again Narada asked; ‘O Lord what are the regulations (vidhi) to be observed?’ Brahma replied: ‘There are no regulations. Whoever in a pure or impure state chants these names always, attains the same world (salokya), proximity to (samipya), the same form as (sarupya) or absorption into Brahman (sayujya). Whoever chants this mantra of sixteen names 35 million times is absolved of the sin of murdering a brahmana and that of murdering a hero. He is absolved of the sin of the theft of gold. He becomes purified from sexual misconduct. Having abandoned all Dharmas he is absolved from all sins. He becomes immediately liberated.’ This is the [Kali Santarana] Upanishad.” (Kali Santarana Upanishad, 3)
