The problem:
It is very common for thieves to attempt break-ins on these vans by drilling a hole through the rear door to access the internal mechanisms of the lock and open the door, thus being able to take whatever is stored in the back of the van.
If your van has been broken into, the usual resolution is to replace the whole door, which is very expensive and can be difficult to source. You may even need to spray the door to match your van.
If you are looking for a deterrent, a common solution is an alarm system. These are also expensive and may not deter a thief- by the time the alarm goes off they might already be in the van and stealing your tools!
