If you have a basement and live where it may flood you understand the issue with a sump pump and a loss of power. You get an unwanted pool in your house. I set up a backup system that is solar-powered to cover me if I am not home during a power failure. But, I never guessed the backup would give extra protection when there was a massive influx of water that overwhelmed my 1/3 hp pump. I hope you never have to worry about this issue.

You will need a solar panel and I used 18 Gauge wiring to connect to the deep-cycle marine battery.
