And the legal reason is: Your subscription has to be a donation. Else, my Patreon page would legally be a shop. And to run a shop, I would need .. well, a legal permission to run a shop. Which at least over here in Germany is a very VERY complicated to get. It is in fact so complicated that I would have to quit my dayjob to be legally allowed to sell my patches. Since I obviously cannot do that, I only can share my patches via a donation-based system.
