This video shows the steps to insert a rivet nut without any expensive tools. The only 'special tool' needed is a strip of metal with a hole to prevent the rivet nut from rotating. In this case I insert the rivet nut into the body of a 2cv that I am restoring. Make sure to remove the original welded nut with an angle grinder or chisel before placing the rivet nut. Good luck!
