When you are painting in a photorealistic style, shadows can make or break the painting. Here are a few tips and tricks to get that perfect shadow, especially when the first wash does not go as planned.

I am using Holbein watercolor paint, Burnt Sienna and Ultramarine Light. Painting with a Holbein Gold Round #6 brush on Kilimanjaro 300lb cold pressed paper.
