The Behr paint is absolute junk. I thought all paints would require a second coat, but after painting another white door to dark navy with Glidden in one coat, I now know Behr is garbage. Highly recommend the Glidden Exterior Latex paint (I used Gloss since it was a textured door). It is MUCH thinner than the Behr (so has zero build up and self leveled to perfect finish), but has MUCH more pigment to completely change colors in one coat. Primer only needed if worried about paint adhesion. I didn't use a primer with the Glidden.
