How to Mouse a Shackle Body. In this video I will show how to Mouse the Shackle Body. The whole idea of Mousing the Shackle Body is so that if you accidentally knock the shackle after the shackle pin has been removed, the shack will not fall off the strop or sling to which it is attached. So if you are lifting many loads and constantly removing the shackle pin in order to change loads, you then have one less worry if the Shackle Body is Moused. Making a Shackle More Secure is the whole idea of this tutorial.
Another good tip is, if you are constantly removing the Pin, then why not attach a lanyard between the Shackle and the Pin, there is an example photo here: youtube.com/channel/UCxfS18VYnZgg2rrJgzuX98w/community?lb=UgzaMfip9fjjS9LSWzZ4AaABCQ
Often when people think of Mousing a Shackle, you often think of mousing the Shackle Pin to the body of the shackle, this will then prevent the shackle pin from coming loose. The Pin can also be moused using the same knots as described in the video.
