In this video, I start by choosing a card from my recently published "Art Poetry" for insights and inspiration art deck(oracle deck).
My art deck is available for purchase at allisondawrant.com/shop.
I also spend a good amount of time demonstrating my process of how I like to mount watercolour paper to wood panel. Cradled wood panels can be found at most local art stores now. I found my cradled wood panels which come with a wood floater frame at Destination Art Store in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. They are wonderful to paint on directly or as I've been enjoying lately- mounting my art on paper to the panel with art glue (matte medium- I use Liquetex in this video). I often use 140lb cotton paper for my artwork, and in this video, I show the process of glueing this paper to the panel. Papers are different based on weight and texture/material. I show how I like to finish(seal) my watercolour painting either Dorland's or Gamblin wax medium. (process not shown here).
