Making good YouTube thumbnails can be challenging because there are so many things that you want to communicate in a very small area.

There are a couple of things that I always like to follow to make my thumbnails stand out and perform. It has a lot to do with contrast, colors, emotions and a few carefully picked words.

With the thumbnail, you both want to communicate what the video is about but also make it look professional and tease people about what to come (without spoiling the outcome).

A good text on a YouTube title should rather be a question or a statement than an answer. The answer should be in the video.
