Here's how to make the smoothest most delicious homemade Hummus that you can easily recreate in your own home. This is the best Hummus recipe I've tried.
Homemade Hummus Recipe Ingredients (4 Snack Servings) About $3 Total
One 19-ounce can (540 grams) chickpeas (Garbanzo)
1 lemon
2 Tablespoons of Tahini
1 Small clove of garlic or Half a Large one
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Cumin
2 to 3 tablespoons water
Dashes of Paprika for Garnish
In a food processor combine tahini and lemon. Blend for at least a minute till whipped.
Add garlic, spices, and olive oil, and blend till smooth. Scrape the sides with a spatula if necessary.
In a bowl. Dump chickpeas and add water to rinse. A technique I came up with to remove the skins is lightly rub the chickpeas between your hands while in the bowl. The skins should separate and can be washed away by adding water to the bowl. Strain chickpeas and dump in blender. Blend for a minute. Scrape sides and bottom of food processor with spatula, blend again.
Add water and blend till desired consistency is reached. Enjoy delicious homemade hummus.
