Learn how to make the Front post Extended Double crochet stitch and the Standing Front post Extended Double crochet stitch.
This stitch is great for creating textured crochet fabrics, as it creates raised stitches on the front of the work.
If you use regular front post double crochet stitches together with double crochet stitches, you will get an irregular top of each row and puckering, but if you use extended stitches you will no longer have this problem.
This stitch is used extensively in this honeycomb textured blanket: youtu.be/VWO76WvPGO0

This video and pattern is not suitable for beginners. It shows advanced crochet stitches to make a unique honeycomb texture on crochet fabric.
Left-handed video here: https://youtu.be/vGNy4oGr7n8
Version without any fast-forward sections: https://www.patreon.com/posts/honeycomb-stitch-90375353
This right-handed crochet video will show you how to make a swatch for a beautiful textured honeycomb baby blanket or even a full-sized blanket, using your advanced crochet skills to make surface stitches.
These surface stitches create an elegant honeycomb lattice texture that can be made in any gauge.
You will learn how to make this lovely textured stitch combination that resembles the lattice stitch, but is much easier to make in large surfaces and is much softer. Plus, you get hexagons, not diamonds.
