Our second video in the Intro to Prosthetic Transfer series teaches the basics of Plaster Mold Making and Latex Prosthetic Application. We put a bullet hole on a forehead which was sculpted in our first video: Intro to Prosthetic Transfers - Basic Sculpting #1. Special attention is given to blending edges and makeup application using Rubber Mask Grease Paint. If you choose to create your own rubber mask grease paint just mix a little Castor Oil and a flesh tone powder compact. Remember to apply translucent powder between each layer of makeup you apply.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS:
When removing the makeup it is important to use a good MAKEUP REMOVER that was specially developed for removing prosthetic adhesives. Regular makeup removers WILL NOT work on these adhesives. An example of some makeup adhesive removers are: "Detachol Adhesive Remover" and "Bond Off". If you don't give your actors a good adhesive remover then their experience will not be pleasant and you may not be able to work with them again. An actors comfort is most important since they are taking the time to allow you to apply makeup on them. At least give your actor the comfort of getting the stuff off in a timely manor with out loosing skin or rashing out from the struggle of getting the adhesive off their face and/or body.
