Here I explain how light is made or created. So I am a little wrong here, converting electricity to gas isn't improved with temperature because temperature reduces one of our other factors: conductivity/amount of energy. But temperature sure does improve the sublimation of light from bonds like the glow from heating iron for example. Perhaps if we could increase temperature without increasing resistance we could make more efficient lights than ever before.
