This is based on upside down aquarium, or multi level aquarium.

Basically, the trick is after you apply the cement, you gotta wait before connecting the two pieces. This gives the cement time to "melt" some of the acrylic so that the two pieces fuse together better. The wait time for the cement depends on the ambient temperature. In colder temps, you should wait longer. Doing this was actually pretty difficult. I practiced on spare acrylic before attempting this.
I’m leaving the light on for around 15 hours a day on a timer to grow algae. Only 2 days later, I can see algae growing on the wall. It’s probably b/c I seeded the tank with algae. I feed the tank with some fish food once in a while to feed the shrimp and the algae. The daphnia and the shrimp eat algae.
I used dechlorinated water all throughout the setup. The reason I added dirty filter water is to instantly cycle the tank and to provide the daphnia with food. Daphnia also eats bacteria.
The hornwort has grown already an inch in the last couple of days. The guppy grass hasn’t grown yet, but both are pearling.
The tank is lit by one t5 14w fluorescent tube.
