This is 17th month update. The fish are called Sparking or Pygmy gourami. The absence of the adult gouramis caused the shrimp population to once again explode. There’s only one female blue shrimp. I was surprised that the shrimplets turned out to be blue color.
The overall health of the tank is very good. It might’ve been the addition of the heat pad, or that I removed the adult gouramis. Maybe it was the combination of the both. Almost all of the algae is gone from the plants. No doubt the happy shrimp grazed on them.
The fry is doing well. It’s still not eating fish food. Since there’s no competition for food, he/she is eating only the tastiest thing, the live brine shrimp. It might be difficult to get it to eat the fish food.
