In order to help protect garden pots from frost it is a good idea to raise them off the ground and it also aids drainage and protects the bases. We have just bought a pair of lovely Creekwood Garden Pots pots, made of plastic and less than a quarter of the price of pottery ones. I was worried that the relatively thin plastic bases might get damaged and so I have created tailor made base support stands. I admit that my solution is rather over engineered but never mind.
